Public Enemy rewrote the rules of hip-hop, becoming the most influential and controversial rap group of the late '80s and, for many, the definitive rap group of all time. Building from Run-D.M.C.'s street-oriented beats and Boogie Down Productions' proto-gangsta rhyming, Public Enemy pioneered a variation of hardcore rap that was musically and politically revolutionary. . Chuck D - Autobiography of Mistachuck - CD Customer reviews. out of 5 stars. 5 out of 5. out of 5 stars This album is amazing, I don't care what others have said. The thing I really like about Chuck D (or Mistachuck, as he preferred to be referred to for his solo career) is that he makes references to all of Public Enemy's 5/5(2). Reply

Chuck D should have been the exception to this, and this album is the proof. "Autobiography of Mistachuck" is first rate hip hop. Chuck still has his voice and he still has his poetry, but he brings it to a much funkier and more soulful musical style than was ever used by Public Enemy/5(4). Reply
